Saw Milling

At zNelson Designs LLC we have a large inventory of locally harvested lumber that I mill personally. I have a network of tree removal experts that bring logs to my shop. I look for every species native to our Southern New England area.

I coat the ends of each log with a different color each year then mill them into boards. Then they air dry under cover for 1.5 to 2.5 years. Selected boards are left to sit for another 2-3 months in the shop before they are used in a project. We have plans to construct a solar kiln to reduce drying times in the future.
